Those instructions are not good. What does it do, change the entire login for my site? I don’t want that.
It will install 1:1 copy of the demo site, so all logins, users, blogs will be replaced. If you want to keep your content then you should install theme only without demo content -> https://diaboliquedesign.com/demo/onecommunity-new/Help/
You can also export your blog posts to the XML file (tools -> export), import demo and then import your blog posts.

How do I ‘remove’ options from that file?
You are unzipping the wrong file, this file is of All in One Migration plugin, there is another demo zip file in the Duplicator folder, which is available on google drive.
Please send me login credentials so I will take a look on it.
Other themes make it super easy to import the demo. Yours is locking up at 60% even after I did the requisite configurations in order to accommodate importing a file of that size. This is the second time I’ve tried.
It seems like your hosting can’t handle bigger zip files. Other themes are just simple blog/portfolio, which can be easy imported with XML file, in buddypress it’s not so simple.

Try to install demo content using Duplicator, if file is too big then you can unzip demo content archive, remove the wp-content/uploads folder, you can remove some plugin folders like woocommerce, litespeed and try to install it. After successful installation you can upload the uploads folder back.

Exactly the same applies for the changes that I made in the footer (via – Appearance – Customize – Footer). I uploaded a new image, then changed the info text, and I published. However, when I acces the webpage, no changes are made.
Go to appearance -> customize -> transients and disable Enable transients for the footer

Also, the white hamburger short menu icon has disappeared on my home page menu. What has caused this please?
