Use en_EN.mo file name and edit wp-config.php file.
OK, I have improved it.
I just uploaded a new version of theme, reupload functions.php file.
It’s working – http://www.demo1.diaboliquedesign.com/5c/ style is loaded from here – http://www.demo1.diaboliquedesign.com/5c/wp-content/themes/cinematix-child/style.css

But search field for blog is on the header, if you want to have it on the sidebar then use some plugin with search function.
1. There is not enough space on the responsive layout. You can increase lenght opening groups/single/group-header.php and increasing 22

If you want to change design of theme (colors, columns width, fonts) then you have to edit theme files.
Inside documentation you will find chapter about how to customise design elements of theme.3. Theme doesn’t have a widgetized footer.

Which original text? Some translations are inside buddypress and bbpress language files. This theme can be translated like every other theme so there is no special instructions.
